Apply for a Veterinary Technician License

If you are currently licensed as a Veterinary Technician in a state, territory, or district of the United States you may qualify for licensure by endorsement. Click here for additional information.

The following requirements must be met:

  • Pass the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) AND one of the following:
    • Completed a Veterinary Technician training program accredited by the AVMA-CVTEA or the CVMA.
    • Employer letter documenting 6 months experience working under licensed veterinarian on Employer Letterhead

  • If you have not completed a Veterinary Technician Training Program, have you completed 6,000 hours of supervised practice as unlicensed assistive personnel under a licensed veterinarian? Please submit the Verification of Education (Experience) form with your application.
