The Uniform Building Code Commission is obligated under the Uniform Building Standards Act to have a public hearing regarding the proposed changes to the building codes. This public notice and scheduled public hearing are for the Uniform Building Code Commission to receive public comment on the proposed building codes prior to it making its recommendation to the legislative Business and Labor Interim Committee.
A person who wants to recommend a proposed change to the building codes should submit a Request for Code Amendment Application.
